Walking Aimlessly ………. a Metaphor for Life
I was stuck in Cheshire over the weekend recently and wanted to continue my hill-walking training for Machu Pichu. Those who know Cheshire will understand how it is difficult to find a strenuous walk anywhere close to Nantwich. So I headed up to the Bickerton Hills. It was great walking up. I even got a bit of a sweat on…… then what. I decided to go down and back up again……. So for nearly 2 hours I wandered around finding slopes or steps down just so I could climb back up again.
There was a reason for my walk but no goal. If you look at the picture on the right you will see the very jumbled GPS map. The setting was lovely, the weather was great and the views were stunning but I was bored just trying to find hills to walk up and down. Its much better with a clear peak to reach, such as Pen Y Fan or Gwastedyn.
